Our mission is to offer practical help and support to people in their everyday lives, while demonstrating God's love. Below, you can learn more about our key projects:
School sponsorships
It is heartbreaking to witness the challenges faced by the local community. The struggle to break the cycle of poverty is overwhelming and often feels impossible. Our goal is to be a bridge, enabling individuals to access quality education at schools that also teach strong values.
Over the years, we have seen remarkable potential in these people, and they thrive when given the chance to discover and develop their abilities. Often, for the first time, they realize there are people who believe in them, offering support and guidance. Each child is paired with atutor to help with academic work and provide emotional and organizational support.

Childhood & Free time
A person’s childhood deeply shapes their adulthood and their entire life. Buhay is committed to providing sustainable, impactful support to children.
Many here are forced to take on adult responsibilities far too early, leaving no room or resources for child-appropriate care and development. As a result, many of their talents remain undiscovered.
We believe every child is gifted, and we want to be the bridge that helps them explore and nurture those talents. Our weekly events focus on sports, hygiene, nutrition, creativity, and engagement with God's Word. We also offer workshops on various topics, allowing children to explore their interests.

Care for the homeless
Every time we step outside, we encounter hardship and suffering. Hearing the stories of those affected is heartbreaking. Many don’t know how they will feed their children or themselves by the end of the day.
Motivated by the Bible verse above, we aim to stand by these individuals through our walk or bike missions. We provide food, water, listen to their concerns, and sometimes help them find shelter.
For me personally (Joana), the walk and bike mission is especially touching because it was started by Filipinos during the COVID-19 pandemic, inspired by the mindset: "Buhay has helped us so much; we want to give something back.

Medical care
In Germany, we are blessed with access to health insurance, a privilege often taken for granted. In the Philippines, however, many people cannot afford basic transportation to the hospital, let alone medical costs for doctors, medications, or surgeries.
Minor illnesses often go untreated due to financial constraints, and the consequences can be devastating. Families have lost everything due to unqualified medical care, and children have died because they couldn’t afford medicine for treatable conditions. There have been times when a cesarean section had to be paid for immediately, with no other options. These are just a few examples of the daily struggles we encounter.
